Schnucker-Presley Publishing Grant and Fund
About the Grant
The Schnucker-Presley Publishing Grant supports the publication of new scholar's first book. In response to increasing pressure to publish only works that offer the greatest financial benefits to a publisher, this grant allows Truman State University Press to offset some costs of production and printing of a nonfiction, scholarly book for a first-time author.

The grant is named for Robert Schnucker and Paula Presley. Dr. Schnucker, founder of Truman State University Press and director until his retirement in 1998, helped establish the Sixteenth Century Essays & Studies series. Paula Presley spent eighteen years at the Press in various capacities, and served as director from 1998 to 2004. Both are dedicated to scholarly publishing, and continue to encourage research by newer scholars.

To Make a Contribution to the Fund
Please support scholarly publishing with your gift. Scholarly research and writing typically has a smaller audience, and many commercial presses are unwilling to publish works they view as not financially viable. Your gift helps TSUP make scholarly research available, promotes the engagement of ideas, and encourages young scholars of early modern studies and American studies.

For additional information on this fund, call TSUP at (660) 785-7336, or send your tax-deductible gift to:
